Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain, GA Stone Mountain Park: http://www.stonemountainpark.com/lodging-camping.aspx Overview: We loved Stone Mountain Park due to it close proximity to our GA house and all the wonderful activities. Stone Mountain Park has a lot to offer from the cable car ride to the top of the mountain (or better yet walk up it!), an antebellum plantation, a scenic railroad, a laser light show, and tons of walking/biking trails. We were there in December and the Christmas light display was spectacular! The campground itself sits on the lake with tons of amenities/activities and awesome views of Stone Mountain. I would recommend this park for anyone who wants to visit Atlanta. It is outside the city perimeter but has easy access to the main roads leading to the metropolis. Campsites: Fairly level gravel sites, most are wooded/shaded. Full hook-ups (30/50 amp, water, sewer) or partial hook-ups (30 amp, water) available. Cable TV is available at some sites. Amenities: Camp store, pool, activity center, laundry facilities, bathhouses, playground, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit, discounts/special offers on Adventure passes Pet friendly: Yes Internet: Wi-Fi available but variable reception at sites Price: $30-60/night Rating: 4/5 Panoramic view of Stone Mountain with Atreyu
